Who We Are
The University of Oklahoma is committed to helping prepare our students for career success. Students receive education about dressing professionally, but for many, obtaining professional attire for career fairs and interviews is not financially possible. As a result, students are either unable to present themselves professionally for job interviews, thereby decreasing their chances of success, or choose to skip important career fairs and opportunities simply because they aren’t prepared to present themselves professionally.
The Project
OU Suit Up was created in partnership with JCPenney Corporate Office to help provide students with the opportunity to purchase professional attire at greatly reduced rates or through scholarship support. In its inaugural year, over 200 students from various academic disciplines participated in OU Suit Up. In 2017, we had almost 700 OU students participate in the event. Given the increase in student interest, who knows how big the event will be this year! The 2018 OU Suit Up will be held on Sunday, August 26 from 6:00 - 9:30 p.m..
The Impact
Donations raised throughout our campaign will directly support student scholarships for professional attire from JCPenney. Many of our students wouldn't be able to purchase the professional attire they need for interviews and jobs without the support of our donors. Our students will be more confident and prepared for wherever their new suit takes them. The more money we raise, the more students we can help!
