Homecoming Reunion Week

During the 128 years of our university's existence, our students and alumni have come to expect a level of excellence in their experiences at OU. Homecoming is a hallmark of any college experience and the University of Oklahoma is surely no exception. As the oldest event on campus, Homecoming brings students, alumni, and the greater Norman community together to celebrate our university and the traditions that make it so special. After all, there is only one Oklahoma. This year, over 50 campus organizations will team up to compete in our mainstay events like the Rah! Rally and the annual Homecoming Parade. In addition to the 20,000 mums adorning campus this week, our student organizations decorate the university with intricately crafted boards, banners, and chalk drawings. Alumni are honored throughout the week as we welcome them back to the campus that they will always call home. The theme this year is "Homeward Bound" and celebrates the fact that no matter where you come from or where you go once you leave the OU campus, we are all Homeward Bound come Homecoming Week. This year Homecoming: Reunion Week will be held from October 21st-27th, concluding with the Homecoming football game vs Kansas State on October 27th.

Why We Need You

Throughout recent years, Homecoming has expanded at an exponential rate. In attempting to make our events more inviting and inclusive to all of our students and alumni alike, the magnitude of Homecoming Week has grown. These expansions can be seen in the relocation of the Rah! Rally to Lloyd Noble Center, the addition of a Homecoming Bash concert, new and more inclusive alumni events, and a revamped competition structure that makes it easier than ever before for student organizations to participate in Homecoming. All of these additions help us better serve our campus and community, but also come with a higher cost. For organizations, the cost of materials (float supplies, Rah! Rally costumes) is often daunting. Our executive team also faces similar difficulties in funding our events. Your donation will help sponsor campus organizations, continue these events, and create new venues to make the Homecoming experience more accessible to all students. The more money we raise, the more students will be helped. The effects that Homecoming has been able to have in the past few years would not have been remotely possible without the generosity of our Thousands Strong donors, and we could not be more grateful. We are very appreciative of our donors and supporters, and once again are asking for your help.
