One more day! That’s all we have left in the Pink Out For Cancer Research campaign. These past four weeks have been a united effort and together WE DID IT! We reached our goal of $2,000. THANK YOU! Our time together in the Pink Out For Cancer Research campaign will end March 16 at 11:01 am! This gives us all the time we need to do more. To be exact, $550 more! Fifty dollars a day every day for the next eleven days will help us accomplish our goal. Thank you for all that you have done to help us reach this point! Every gift impacts the lives of family and friends receiving care from the Stephenson Cancer Center in Oklahoma City. Your gift will cover the cost of a wig or head wrap for those experiencing hair loss. And, your gift will provide hotel lodging for a cancer fighter in need of assistance during treatment. As we work to finish “together and strong,” consider the difference you can and will make by giving today. Here’s what one OU family member had to say about her personal experience with cancer.
“Until you hear the word “cancer” from your own doctor you truly underestimate the power of events and initiatives like these. And yes, it is true, cancer sucks! My personal experience with being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014 and undergoing several surgeries, a lot of blood work, and numerous tests to finally get my “you are cancer free” results was an up and down one for sure. I am so grateful for the people who give to cancer research and help support those needing care! It is the best gift to give in someone’s honor or to give just because you do care. There isn’t a week that goes by that I am not connected with someone that has been newly diagnosed with cancer.

$5 helps cover the cost of a taxi ride for patients traveling to the Stephenson Cancer Center for treatment.
$25 helps patients cover the cost of gasoline with more than 40% traveling more than 50 miles to get to the Stephenson Cancer Center. Your gift will provide a Gas Card to a cancer fighter in need of assistance.

Cancer patients often fight cancer on their own, and basic tasks like driving themselves to treatment become a challenge. Your gift will provide a taxi ride for Oklahoma City-based patients who are in need of transportation to treatment.
More than 40 percent of patients travel more than 50 miles to get to nationally recognized cancer care at the Stephenson Cancer Center. The cost of gas adds up quickly, and your gift will provide a Gas Card to a cancer fighter in need of assistance.
Cancer treatment can cause many physical changes such as hair loss. Your gift will provide women battling cancer with the opportunity to receive a wig or head wrap at no cost.
Cancer patients and their caregivers are often away from their home for weeks – or even months – at a time. Your gift will provide hotel lodging for a cancer fighter in need of assistance during treatment.
Approximately 1 in five Oklahoma women are without health insurance and are unable to receive a routine mammogram. Your gift will provide mammogram services for Oklahoma women while contributing to public health research on how to improve access to care.
