There are only 3 days left in our Future Teacher Certification Support campaign and we would love to keep the positive momentum going. Thank you to every one who has given and who has shared our campaign to help these amazing future teachers get into the classroom! Gregg Garn, Dean of the Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education, also wanted to share his thanks (and a challenge!) in this video.
Thanks to everyone who has shared and donated to the Future Teacher Certification Support project, we have raised 76% of our goal! Because of your help, we have notified 4 students already that they will be receiving financial assistance for their certification tests this spring, including Amanda White, who wanted to share her gratefulness in the video below.
But our work is not done! We still need your help in sharing the project on your social media and through email with your friends, colleagues, and family. Your passion for supporting our students has inspired us to hope that we will not only reach our goal, but surpass it, meaning we can help even MORE future teachers!
We are absolutely blown away by the generosity shown on day one of our "Future Teacher Certification Support" campaign. Because of all of the people who have already given, we were able to notify 4 students today that they will be receiving funds to cover their teacher certification exams. You can probably imagine the sense of relief felt by these future teachers, but check back soon as we'll be sharing some of their reactions.
With the momentum you all have provided on day one, we are hopeful that we will surpass our goal and be able to help even more future teachers than we had planned, which would be incredible.
Besides the financial relief which the funds you are giving provides for our individual students who will soon be teachers educating our future generations, this outpouring also shows the passion many people have for supporting our current and future teachers in Oklahoma, which is a message of encouragement we hope all educators will take to heart.
Thanks to people who have already shared our campaign or donated financially or will do so in the coming days, we are all working toward a better and brighter future for education in our state and beyond.
Let's keep going!
A $15 gift means $15 less one of our students has to find for their background check or certification tests.
$30 will cover a student's registration fee for their teacher certification tests.
$59 will cover the fee for the criminal background check which all teachers must pass before being allowed in a classroom.
$120 is an average amount for a subject area test or professional teaching exam. Our students will have to take at least 1 subject area test (usually 2 or 3) and the professional teaching exam.
$359 is the total cost one student teacher would have to pay including their registration fee for certification tests, their subject area test, the professional teaching exam, and the criminal background check.
