OU-Tulsa Research Forum

The OU-Tulsa Research Forum Showcases Student Research

The OU-Tulsa Research Forum is an annual multidisciplinary event that promotes research across all colleges at OU-Tulsa. The event has grown from a small event in 2002, with only 14 abstract submissions focused on health research, to over 90 submissions per year.

Students are provided an opportunity to showcase their research in the areas of:

  • Biomedical
  • Education
  • Engineering and Applied Research
  • Quality Improvement
  • Social Behavioral and Community Service

All researchers submit a poster on their topic and findings. In addition, they are required to make a presentation to peers, faculty, and community leaders during the forum. Winners are selected in each category.

The OU-Tulsa Research Forum not only showcases students’ research, but also the University of Oklahoma on a local, regional and national level.

Testimonials

OU-Tulsa student researchers consistently praise the OU-Tulsa Research Forum, including how the event enriches their educational experience on campus and strengthens their research capabilities. Here is what a few of our students had to say:

“The OU-Tulsa Research Forum is a great opportunity to share and present your work in an environment filled with energy, enthusiasm, curiosity and intellectual excitement all around. Presenting at the forum has enhanced my ability to confidently answer questions posed by a diverse audience.” Haneya Qureshi, Doctoral Candidate, Electrical and Computer Engineering

“Participating in OU-Tulsa’s Research Forum gave me the opportunity to share my ideas with other field experts in my community. I was able to share my work on a local level, which gave me the insights I needed to then share my research at national forums and conferences. The engagement of the entire OU-Tulsa community around research contributes to the university-wide focus on research and innovation.” Laura Latta, PhD, Jeannine Rainbolt College of Education Alumnus

“As an OU-Tulsa Research Forum winner, I had the opportunity to present my research on a national platform, which was an enriching and rewarding experience for me. I was able to meet with colleagues across the country who provided guidance on how to take my research to the next level.” Alizay Paracha, Medical Student
