Dear Sooner Off-Road supporters,

This weekend marked the conclusion of our Thousands Strong campaign for the 2020-2021 competition season. On behalf of the team, we would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who donated. You make our team possible, and thanks to all of you we exceeded our fundraising goal of $7,000 with donations totaling $7,825.

As many of you remember, this year we hosted a special raffle for the naming rights to our 4 wheel-drive test vehicle. The winner has been notified, and our test vehicle’s new name will be announced on our Instagram page this week!

Thanks to all of our donors, we have successfully reached our fundraising goal. We are so grateful for your continued support of our team and the commitment you have made to our success. We look forward to seeing your support pay off with our continued success this year. On that note, we have been working hard to get a variety of projects completed this year. We just received our frame back from powder coating. It is a sparkly red to complete the "Hot Rod" appearance we are going for with our gold anodized aluminum components. We are also just a few days out from sending our new competition vehicle's frame out for manufacturing. This is the frame that will be used for our first fully custom 4 wheel drive vehicle. Our team has been putting in lots of hard work to keep up with all of the various projects we are undertaking. 

Thanks for helping us reach our goal, but we want to remind you, there's no reason to stop here. As we mentioned previously, for every $50 you donate, you have an additional chance at winning the naming rights to our 4 wheel drive test vehicle. Hello Sooner Off-Road supporters!

We are now over 2 weeks into our Thousands Strong campaign, and we are over 60% of the way to our goal thanks to generous donors like you.

This week our team has been busy preparing our frame for powder-coating, which means that we had to disassemble much of our handiwork to return Pepper to her bare frame. We had a lot of fun driving her a few weekends ago, and we can’t wait to put her back together with a brand new powder-coat and drive her again! In the meantime, we have been hard at work on the design for our upcoming 4-wheel drive vehicle. Most recently, we constructed a cardboard chassis to see how our drivers will fit in our new car and inform potential design changes before we can order our frame. Pictured is our chassis lead, Sierra Budinoff, in a mock-up of the frame she designed this year. A huge thanks goes out to all of our design leads for their countless hours of hard work to meet upcoming design deadlines and ensure that we meet our goals despite everything going on in this crazy year.

We also wanted to remind everyone about our special fundraiser this year. For every $50 you donate, your name will be entered once into a raffle. The winner of the raffle will get the chance to name the 4 wheel-drive test vehicle we just completed. You can name it whatever you want (your own name, a silly name, your college vehicle's name, etc) and we'll put a sticker on the car with the name you choose! If you've already donated, you automatically have your name in the hat, but the more you donate, the more chances you get.

It's been just over a week and we're already going strong. Thank you for your donation.

This past weekend we took our three newest cars driving. We had a great time, got some good driver experience, and found lots of areas we can improve on our vehicle design. This was the first time we had been able to drive off-road since the beginning of COVID-19, so it was especially exciting.

We also have a special announcement to make. This year, we are doing a special fundraiser associated with our Thousands Strong. For every $50 you donate, your name will be entered once into a raffle.
