Our Team
Boomer Rocket Team is a group of multidisciplinary engineering students at the University of Oklahoma dedicated to the design, construction, and launch of high powered rockets.
We are regularly training and individually certifying new members with the National Rocketry Association as well as building upon our existing foundation of expertise and resources. Our hands-on projects in rocketry help us gain valuable experience applying engineering theory to real world systems. Most of all, they prepare our team for the national competitions we participate in each year. We rely heavily on teamwork both in experimentation and in competition.
Our Need
We need your help! Our goal is $3,000, but we want to raise 200% of that. The expected budget for this year's project matches last year's budget, where we spent over $13,000; we need your help to get us to the launch pad! The team is eager to begin the rocket design, construction, and system testing, but without funding for materials and travel, we can't make it to Kansas to compete.
Our Challenge
This year, we are competing in the Argonia Cup, a competition that challenges teams of collegiate students to design, construct, and execute a multi-disciplined rocketry project utilizing innovative engineering and technology concepts. Although the basics of the competition are relatively straightforward, the open-ended nature of the challenge requires us to step up our game! We have already started the design work for this semester. Please consider joining our campaign, and helping BRT fly high!
