Our Last and Final Update!

We want to thank everyone who contributed to our campaign last year - it was because of you that we were able to successfully complete and fly our competition rocket in the SpacePort America Cup! Without your help none of this would have been possible.

Update on our competition results: On July 20th - 24th, we competed in the SpacePort America Cup and finished 24th out of 45 teams in our category. Our rocket, ‘Show Me What You Got,’ had a beautiful flight and landing. Check out our Facebook page for a video of the launch and photos from competition! Everyone had a great time, and we’re planning on competing again this year with a new design. Stay tuned for updates on our new project and fundraising campaign!

To conclude, with your support we were able to represent OU and the Gallogly College of Engineering at a new, international competition. Throughout the design and build process, we learned different procedures and manufacturing techniques that we’ll be able to apply in the following years for new projects and competitions, so it’s only up from here. We’re already applying what we’ve learned to our plans for this year’s competition, and we can’t wait to beat last year’s score! We’ll be posting updates to our Facebook page as the competition season gets going.

With the start of the semester, the Boomer Rocket Team is celebrating our very successful campaign! In 30 days with 25 donors, we surpassed our original goal of $3,000 dollars. Now, we are able to start with the actual manufacturing process of the rocket, and we at the BRT are very excited to begin. 

We want to give a huge thank you to all of our donors and all those who helped spread the word. Your incredible contributions have given us an incredible chance to participate in the Spaceport America Cup. Running a campaign is no small effort, and we at the BRT really appreciate all the work done by donors and sponsors to help us reach our goal.

We at the Boomer Rocket Team want to give you the last update of our campaign!

The Boomer Rocket Team's Campaign is almost over, and just in time for the end of the semester. We are in the last 4 days of our campaign, and we consider it very successful. Even though we have not reached our stretch goal of $5,000, we are funded and ready to go for the Spaceport America Cup. In the last few days, please consider telling your friends and family about the BRT, and hopefully we can push all the way to $5,000.

To all of our donors, thank you for all of your help and support. The BRT is ready to fly high this year at competition thanks to you. The team has ordered the majority of our parts, and the rest will be ordered before the end of the year. Plans are already underway to begin construction, and it's all thanks to your help.

After 2 weeks of campaigning, we at the Boomer Rocket Team wanted to update you about the progress of the campaign!

Things have been going excellently. We have already passed our initial goal of $3,000, and are steadily progressing towards our extended goal of $5,000. We know we will keep on climbing until we reach that goal!

The team has been working hard so we can put that money to good use. We have officially submitted our entry form and down payment for the Spaceport America Cup, and are designing a number of prototypes so we know exactly what we're doing when manufacturing begins. The prototype for our air brake system is complete, and hopefully will be wind tunnel tested soon!

Thank you for all of your incredible support! The Boomer Rocket Team is shaping up to have a year unlike any we have had before.

The Boomer Rocket Team has had an absolutely incredible first week! In 7 days, with 19 sponsors, we already reached our initial goal of $3,000. We want to send a huge thank you to all of our sponsors! Your contributions have made competing possible this year. 

However, we still have 3 weeks to go and we have no intention of quitting now! The Boomer Rocket Team is stretching its goal to $5,000 to help front the cost of participation in other competitions, and allow us additional design space for our Spaceport America Cup Rocket. 

We are very excited to see what the next 25 days bring us. Thanks to your incredible support, the team can push farther than we ever planned to. You can continue to help us by telling friends and family about our campaign, and sharing our link wherever you can.
