The College of Nursing

An Oklahoma tradition with a global reach, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing is a nationally-recognized college offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral level programs to professional nurses from throughout the world. Founded in 1911, the OU College of Nursing is the state's largest nursing program and is dedicated to continuing the leadership and academic excellence that have become synonymous with the University of Oklahoma.

The College of Nursing offers full-time, part-time and distance education through its Oklahoma City, Lawton and Tulsa locations, as well as distance learning throughout the state. Led by a diverse, exceptional faculty, our educational programs are devoted to shaping nurses and nurse leaders who are impacting health care in Oklahoma and beyond.

Scholarships

The College of Nursing Scholarship Fund provides critical scholarships to educate the next generation of leaders in the field of Nursing here at OU. The Fran and Earl Ziegler College of Nursing at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center is the state’s premier nursing program, with over 11,000 alumni across the country and around the world. Giving back through student scholarships is the best way to impact the lives of future Sooner Nurses. These scholarships are awarded to high performing students who have a financial need – reducing their debt burdens after graduation and helping to launch their careers in nursing. 

Impact

Every gift in support of scholarships makes a difference in the lives of students. As the cost of achieving a world class Nursing education continues to rise, scholarships offset tuition, fees, and other expenses. For example, a gift of $100 can support a student's required supplies - providing a professional grade thermometer. Together, $5 or $10 at a time, we can help provide nursing education so critical to the future of health here in Oklahoma. 

A Personal Story

As a high school student in Edmond, Oklahoma, Kalli Wolf knew that she wanted to study people. She says nursing is "focused on people at its heart." Kalli recently graduated from the College of Nursing's Bachelor of Science in  Nursing program. Already a rising star in her field, Kalli studied abroad in Italy, served as President of the OU Student Nurses' Association, and represented Oklahoma at a nursing focused Student Policy Summit in Washington, D.C. Kalli credits the support of scholarships and the generosity of alumni in friends for helping her launch her career. Through scholarship support, the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing is committed to helping bright students like Kalli achieve their goals.
