Who We Are
Sooners Helping Sooners is a student organization that raises money for OU students in need of emergency funding for situations that would prevent them from being able to be successful in school. Our mission is to provide grants to students so that they can stay on campus and graduate a Sooner. In the past, we have provided grants to students who have had their laptops stolen, commuting students who have had car troubles, and many more.
Who We Help
Students can apply for a financial grant from Sooners Helping Sooners themselves or be nominated for a grant by fellow students or faculty members. Our grant process is completely anonymous because we want our organization’s focus to be community service and to protect the identities of our classmates in need.
Why We Need Your Help
Sooners Helping Sooners is able to provide grants to students in need by fundraising throughout the year and by our generous donations by OU students, alumni, and the community. This is only our fifth year of operation, and have grown and established ourselves on campus, but we need Sooners’ continued support to be able to help students long term.
If you feel inspired by our mission, please consider donating to our organization. Also, please feel free to share our campaign link on your social media accounts to show your family, friends, and colleagues that being part of the Sooner Family does not stop after graduation.
This small donation is perfect for current OU students who want to give back!
A $20 grant could help a student get the books and supplies needed for a successful semester at OU.
A $50 grant could help a student having transportation issues get to class.
A $100 grant could help a student with unforeseen medical bills and stress associated with those bills.
A $200 grant could help a student in an emergency housing situation.
