Help OU Students Preserve the History of American Organs

Who We Are

The American Organ Institute at the University of Oklahoma School of Music is one of the largest and most diverse organ programs in the country, offering opportunities found nowhere else in the United States. In addition to classical technique and repertoire, the program emphasizes sacred music, improvisation, theatrical organ, and organ design and construction, making it a truly unique and invaluable place for the construction, study, and performance of pipe organ music.

How You Can Help

The American Organ Institute Archives and Library is home to one of the largest collections of theatre organ related materials, but very little has been made available online.

Your donation will help fund the planning period and first round of digitization of the American Theatre Organ Journal – a more than 60-year-old publication, filled with historical significance for American organs, music, culture, and silent film. Our ultimate goal to fund the project is $55,000 and this campaign will put us well on our way!

With our unique dedication to the study of theatre organs, this project would provide an incredible resource for students and faculty at the AOI as well as broader members of the theatre organ community, providing opportunities for well-rounded musicianship and ground-breaking scholarship in the field of American organs.
