Who We Are
Sooners Without Borders is a student service organization that works to promote sustainable development at home and abroad.
OUr Project
Over Spring Break SWB members are traveling to Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota to work with the Oglala Lakota. They will be volunteering with the non-profit organization Re-Member on much needed projects within the Pine Ridge community. Potential projects include
building bunk beds for children who currently do not have their own bed,
installing protective skirts around mobile homes to help moderate indoor temperatures,
outhouses for those lacking the basic infrastructure of water and sanitation services in their homes,
minor construction projects such as roof repairs to make homes more livable,
wheelchair ramps, steps and decking to improve accessibility.
OUr Impact
While the work SWB members does on the reservation will help increase many people’s quality of life there, it will also be an invaluable experience for our members. Your donations will allow all able members the opportunity to serve, increase their skills in development work, learn another culture, and make a positive difference in the world.
