UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM
The Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP) offers financial assistance for scholarly and creative projects under the mentorship of a faculty member. Dozens of research projects are funded each year so that undergraduates may undertake ambitious and exciting research endeavors. This competitive program is open to all University of Oklahoma main campus and Health Science Center students, who compete for research grants of up to $1,000 each semester. Students and faculty from across the university discover the benefits of these hands-on research opportunities in laboratories, studios, libraries, and field sites. UROP recipients present the results of their research or accounts of their work in progress at the Honors College’s Undergraduate Research Day (URD), a professional conference for students held in April each year.
Every gift makes a difference in the lives of these aspiring scientists, educators, physicians, artists, lawmakers, economists, historians, and engineers. Please consider supporting the Honors College Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program.
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH DAY
The Honors College will host the 31st annual Undergraduate Research Day (URD) in April 2019 at the University of Oklahoma. At URD, the Honors College hosts students who were funded in their research or creative activities from the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program; other students may also showcase what they have discovered in their undergraduate work. In 2018, Undergraduate Research Day featured 95 presentations in eighteen different sessions that spanned academic disciplines from across the university.
Your support will help the Honors College expand this pivotal experience!
