In today’s health care, it is an exciting time to be a physician assistant! The OU College of Medicine Physician Associate program in Oklahoma City, is housed within the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine and is one of the oldest PA programs in continuous operation.
Current program enrollment is approximately 100 students each year who are taught by faculty members from the Departments of Cell Biology, Physiology and Pathology, as well as the College of Pharmacy. Additional teaching support is delivered by a combination of clinicians in the community and within the clinical departments on campus. Graduating students have been highly successful when taking their board certification exams – a 99 percent pass rate, several percentage points above the national average.
Gifts to the Physician Associate program will support student scholarships , learning resources for faculty instruction and tools to help PA students succeed on their path to becoming the next generation of leaders in their profession.
